- What sort of companies/organisations do you work with?
- We work with many of the leading companies in Cambridge and the surrounding
areas. So whether you enjoy the corporate environment, or a smaller local
organisation, we have a varied and established client base to suit you.
- What do you specialise in?
- We specialise in Secretarial/PA, Administration, Sales/Marketing, Customer
Service, Reception, Office Management, HR, Accounts & Design.
- What geographical area do you cover?
- We cover Cambridge & the surrounding areas including Ely, Newmarket,
Huntingdon, Royston and Saffron Walden.
- Is there a fee to candidates for use of your services?
- We do not charge any fee whatsoever; our entire service is free to all our
candidates!
- How do I register?
- Ann Pettengell works on an appointment basis only. All you need to do in
the first instance is send us a copy of your CV, along with your salary requirements,
availability, the type of position sought and whether you are looking for
permanent or temporary work. If we feel we may have suitable positions
for you, we will contact you to arrange an appointment.
- What is the registration procedure?
- Our registration appointments will be a meeting with one of our friendly
consultants. We will ask you to complete one of our application forms and
we will discuss your job search requirements so that we can work effectively
for you. The registration appointment will also enable us to personally
recommend you to potential employers. Finally we will ask you to complete
our word and typing assessments.
- What should I wear to registration?
- We would suggest that you wear smart office wear, as you would do for an
interview. Remember, first impressions count and it will be able to speak
highly of you when describing your personal qualities to future employers.
- Where are you located?
- Our registrations are strictly by appointment only, so please contact us in the first instance.
- Do you offer CV advice?
- There is an advice page on this website, we do offer CV advice to our registered
candidates but we do not write up CVs.
- What is contract employment?
- Contract Employment is an agreed commitment for employment within a company,
usually 3, 6 & 11 month contracts.
- How do we get paid for Temp work?
- You are paid by the hour and will be paid on a weekly basis, a week in arrears
by BACS straight into your bank account.
- How long does temporary work last?
- Temporary work varies as all assignments are different, it could be 1 days
work, 1-2 months or even a year.
- What happens if I need to go to an interview whilst temping?
- If you are temping to fill the gap until you find yourself a Permanent position,
you may need some time for interviews. You must give Ann Pettengell and
the client plenty of notice that you have an interview, so that we can
make arrangements to cover your post if necessary.
