Why do you need a covering letter?

A covering letter is the first page of your application, not an attachment to your CV.  It's a chance for you to demonstrate your communication skills and show more of your personal side than a bullet-pointed CV can.  Keep your letter clear and to the point and limit to one page only.  Relate your skills to the job and try to answer the question of 'Why should I invite you for interview?'  Where possible, address it personally to the hirer and remember that writing "Please find enclosed my CV" is not a covering letter.

Have an awesome morning

For lots of us, mornings are miserable.  Communicating with people is off the agenda until you've had your morning coffee.  However, there is the rare and endangered species named 'The Morning Person' - the kind that is motivated, cheerful and energetic before 9am.  How do they do it?  The Undercover Recruiter tells us how.
