Pitch Perfect

Posted on: 13th Nov 2015 by: Ann Pettengell

So you've tailored your CV to ensure that your highlighted skills and experience match those required for the role, matching their keywords where possible.  You've written a clear and concise covering letter outlining why you're interested in and a perfect match for the role.  You have even found out the name of the hiring manager so you can address your cover letter appropriately.  Jone done?  Not quite.

If you have researched the company properly, and discovered the company culture (corporate, informal, creative) then adapting the style and tone of your application accordingly is a smart move. Your application is the first impression a hiring manager gets of you.  Pitch it right and they will already be considering you a 'company fit' before meeting you.
